Workshop on U.K. – U.S. research collaboration concerning the ecosystem level effects of ocean acidification

A small workshop (limited to ~25 participants) has been organized to explore approaches to assess the effects of ocean acidification on the structure and function of ecosystems, and to foster collaboration between U.K. and U.S. researchers. This workshop will be convened following the Oceans in a High CO2 World Symposium this fall (September 24-27, 2012) in Monterey, CA.

The workshop will be held in the Monterey area Sept 28-29, 2012. U.S. scientists interested in participating in the workshop should send to the organizers (Jim Barry (barry(at)mbari.org), Steve Widdicombe (swi(at)pml.ac.uk), and Tim Wootton (twootton(at)uchicago.edu) a brief application for admission describing their interests, future directions and perceived contribution to the workshop. Funding to support travel costs is currently available for a limited number of U.S. researchers, particularly early career scientists. Please submit applications by Monday July 23rd.

Jim Barry, Steve Widdicombe, and Tim Wootton
